Unlike other cleaners we tested, it has a light smell that dissipates quickly. The Krud Kutter has a very mild smell, making it acceptable for everyday use. Use the Krud Kutter if your grout needs a refresh, not if your grout hasn’t been cleaned in two years. We think it’d work well as a weekly grout cleaner to prevent the grout from getting as dirty as ours got, rather than a last-ditch effort to clean grout that probably needs replacement. It did an average job, leaving our dirty dark grey grout a bit lighter after a bit of scrubbing. One area where we were mildly disappointed with the Krud Kutter’s performance was in cleaning grout–but that’s likely because we let our grout get too dirty in the first place. The Krud Kutter is undoubtedly going to become our primary cleaner for grease stains or cooking build-up. ![]() It removed nearly all of the grease, leaving the cabinets smooth and clean. We sprayed it on the sticky cabinets, waited about a minute, then scrubbed it off with a damp sponge. We’ve tried scrubbing it with everything from Windex to 409 Multi-Surface to baking soda with mixed results. So we were especially wowed with the Krud Kutter when it removed most of it on the first try. As a result, there’s always a greasy, textured buildup on those cabinets. Unfortunately, the fan seems to have been improperly installed in our home and simply blows the steam and exhaust out onto the cabinets above the stovetop. We have a fan above our stove in our kitchen, designed to pull in smoke and steam while cooking on the burners. The Krud Kutter shines when it comes to greasy and sticky surfaces, as implied in its name. We used 409 Multi-Surface on the other side of our stove, and it’s clear the Krud Kutter did a better job. When we sprayed the Krud Kutter on our stovetop, it required more scrubbing and a few minutes to soak into the dried-on spills before it was able to remove them entirely. It worked well to clean kitchen counters after cooking, removing dried food, grease, and spilled liquid quickly and easily. Unlike a few other cleaning products we tested, it does require a bit of scrubbing–but no more than any other cleaner we’ve used. For larger surfaces, it’s best to mix the Krud Kutter with water to create a diluted cleaning solution. On surfaces like kitchen tile and porcelain bathtubs, a little went a long way–we sprayed only a few squirts of the solution and rubbed it with a very wet sponge to lessen the strength. We were happy to see that the Krud Kutter worked exceptionally well. We used it on several surfaces ranging from a stovetop to a glass shower wall to our living room carpet, usually covered in dog hair and dander. ![]() Fortunately, the Krud Kutter Cleaner and Degreaser works on all surfaces. It's also only for hard surfaces like tile, bathroom counters, sinks, and plastic, so we had to use a different product to clean upholstery or dirty sports on rugs. We often have to clean surfaces twice to remove grime thoroughly, so our household goes through a bottle in about a month. While 409 is inexpensive and works well, it has a few flaws. We tested it and compared it to comparable cleaners to see if it's worth a spot under your kitchen sink.Ĭleaning Ability: Highly effective on caked-on dirt and grimeīefore testing the Krud Kutter, our go-to multi-surface cleaner was Formula 409 Multi-Surface. It's safe to use on porous surfaces, and there's no strong smell that lingers after use. It's a highly effective spray cleaner made to remove grease and dirt from various surfaces ranging from exteriors to carpet, fabrics, laminate, tile, wood, metal, plastic, and more. Whether you have kids, pets, or just messy adults living in your home, you'll probably need a multi-surface cleaner like the Concentrated Cleaner and Degreaser from Krud Kutter. Despite newer models and options being available, we still feel confident that this product is one of the best choices, and therefore have included it in The Best Stovetop Cleaners. ![]() Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor (1080p, Medium) Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor (1080p, Low) That’s why in real-life use (gaming tests) the difference isn’t as big, only around 8-10% according to maxed out Full HD settings in F1, Tomb Raider, HITMAN, GTA V and Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor. Nonetheless, the rest of the specs are identical, including the memory specs (8GB GDDR5 VRAM clocked at 2000 MHz on a 256-bit bus). ![]() But, on the other hand, when we did a short stress test of the mobile GPU, GPU-Z didn’t register clock rates above 1556 MHz so the pre-production sample not utilizing the full potential of the graphics card might also have to do with the tests’ outcome. The latter probably makes the biggest difference in the testing. For instance, the mobile GTX 1070 features a tad more CUDA cores and Texture Mapping Units (TMUs) than the desktop version (2048 vs 1920 and 170 vs 120 for CUDA and TMU respectively) but its core is clocked slightly lower – 1443 – 1645 MHz vs 1506 – 1683 MHz. Put side by side, both variants seem almost identical but small details make the whole difference. There’s a little more way to go but it’s closer than ever and definitely closer than Maxwell was. However, as our gaming and synthetic benchmarks show, this isn’t exactly true. And the reason is obvious, NVIDIA wants you to believe that they’ve finally closed the performance gap between two form factors – mobile and desktop. This year’s NVIDIA mobile GPUs are deliberately named after their desktop counterparts and miss the M at the back. It’s not the best thing on television right now, but if we’re going to reward networks making prestige television, at least we should watch one that is a bit more ambitious. Not that I’ll be sticking around to find out. Needless to say, there will be a string of red herrings before we even get there. No, I haven’t figured out who the killer is yet (my money is on Ben’s younger daughter or the autistic boy) but whoever it is, it’ll try so hard to be a shocker that we’re all going to groan when we find out who it is. What’s the worst thing about it? I already know the ending. What’s the best thing about it? Let’s say that Ryan Phillippe has aged quite gracefully and is not afraid to appear in his underwear. No one would want to spend five minutes with either, still less an entire hour each week. She’s not haunted or determined in some intricate way, we just see her be an absolute jerk with no explanation whatsoever. Lewis, a skilled and subtle actor in the right environment, plays her as a stone-faced savant who can’t even be bothered with niceties. You don’t root for him as much as tolerate him.Ĭornell, on the other hand, is actively hateable. His bland insistence that everything will turn out all right because he knows the truth belies the premise of the show entirely. Ben is just a simple sad-sack who doesn’t seem to register much emotion. Which characters will you hate? It’s a toss-up between the two main characters, Ben and detective Cornell. As is Jess, the mother of the dead child, who is all raw nerves and tears. Which characters will you love? For some reason, Ben’s wife Cristy is strangely appealing. It’s not even bad enough to be interesting, it’s just sort of blandly awful, lumbering toward some sort of conclusion that no one really cares about. The title of the show promises us sordid details but instead it delivers pat answers that anyone can find in a pulp novel. But it doesn’t impress on a plot level, either. Secrets and Lies doesn’t need to be some deep exegesis about human frailty or the way we live now. There is something going on with his estranged brother the autistic boy who lives in the neighborhood and Ben’s neighbour who hates him. Ben and his wife Cristy (KaDee Strickland) argue all the time. Otherwise this is just typical movie-of-the-week melodrama. The only thing about Secrets and Lies that resembles the Emmy-bait it is aping is the movie-calibre stars (faded though they may be), and that there are only 10 episodes in a closed story. Secrets and Lies is by far the worst of the bunch. Fox doesn’t enter the race until 14 May when it kicks off the M Night Shamalan series Wayward Pines (Juliette Lewis is in that one, too). ![]() NBC was first with The Slap CBS is debuting Battle Creek (from Breaking Bad creator Vince Gilligan) on the same night as Secrets and Lies. Is this show any good? Right now it seems like all the networks are trying to get into the prestige television game, taking a page from True Detective, Fargo and other one-and-done-type shows and adapting them to their more broad sensibility. What is it? I can’t tell you, but you will have guessed it about halfway through the episode. Then, at the end of the first hour, we find out our first big secret. Ben tries to console the boy’s mother Jess (Natalie Martinez), but she wants nothing to do with him. Cornell pesters Ben to give a DNA sample and he says no, but after the press hounds him about it, he relents. Ben finds the body and quickly becomes a suspect after detective Cornell finds out that his daughter Abby (Belle Shouse) babysat for the dead child and had a key to the house. What happens in the premiere? Not much, sadly. Barbie Kligman, a veteran of Private Practice and CSI: NY, adapted it for American audiences. What is the show’s pedigree? Much like NBC’s The Slap, this is based on an Australian mini-series of the same name. When detective Andrea Cornell (Juliette Lewis) is assigned the case, he becomes the main suspect and, of course, his nice suburban life starts to unravel. ![]() What is this show? These are the unlucky ones (if being loved and adored and hand-fed fish can be called unlucky), because, though fully recovered and completely free of pain, their injuries have rendered them incapable of feeding or defending themselves the way most of the other patients here, upon their release back into the wild, are able to do. These outsiders (you know they don’t belong here if they can actually fly) are kept at bay with judiciously aimed squirts of water from the hose.Īll around the courtyard are pens and cages containing other unreleasables, known around here as “animal ambassadors”: Azor the kestrel (missing a wing after being shot with a BB gun), Vlad the turkey vulture, Kali the red-tailed hawk, Aurora the bald eagle, Leonard and Eullalie the ravens, Sage the opossum, and Willow the wood duck. These once-wild, fish-craving characters include a pair of crotchety pelicans named Fred and Scoma, a quartet of cormorants, and three gulls, all of which have damaged wings and are unable to fly or survive in the great wide open.Ī number of freeloading herons and gulls, nonresidents all, are waiting on the rooftops and fence posts for the opportunity to swoop in and snatch a fish from Fred and Scoma and the other not-so-speedy seabirds. On the morning of June 4, 1944, Gallery’s jeep carrier task group engaged the U-505, but held their fire when the damaged submarine surfaced. The idea stuck with Admiral Dan Gallery who prepared his crew over the next several months, should the opportunity arise. This got some American officers wondering if it would be possible to capture one intact–rather than sinking it. The navy had recently crippled a U-boat and many were surprised how quickly the crew had surrendered before the vessel sank.
